Your PID is a unique personal identifier for you. You can use your PID and PID Password to log into Virginia Tech websites like hokiespa and my.vt.edu

If you are a new student and need to create your PID, please use pidgen.vt.edu to do so. Once you create your PID it will remain associated with you forever. Your PID serves as the first part of your VT email address ( [Your PID]@vt.edu ) so avoid phrases or words that might look unprofessional.

You can change your PID password at my.vt.edu.

If you forgot your PID password or are locked out of your account and need to reset your password, there are a few options:

If you would like to change your password at the Stunet office, please bring your Hokie passport and second photo ID. We will reset your password and help you set a new one on our kiosk computers.

You can change your password 24/7 by calling 4Help at 540-231-4357. They will need to verify your identity, and will then reset your PID Password for you.

You can opt to set multiple recovery options on your personal account to help you reset your password on your my.vt.edu site. Once you are on your accounts page, select “Recovery options” under the PID Account Overview section.

Please note, if not all 5 recovery options are visible, select “Show more options”.

If you elect to disable the “Call 4Help” option, you will not be able to receive assistance over the phone even if are out of town or if you have graduated and moved away from Blacksburg. If this option is disabled, you will be required to come to the Stunet Office to reset your password.

If you need assistance, please feel free to contact the Stunet office, or contact 4Help online at 4help.vt.edu or by phone at 540-231-4357.
